Historic Flat Rock is located to the south of Hendersonville and was established in 1968.
The Village of Flat Rock was named for the large flat rock in front of Flat Rock Playhouse and was used by the Cherokee "as a meeting place, where different tribes would come together to settle disputes and trade.” Henderson Heritage - Flat Rock
